American Society of Testing & MaterialsASTM International standards are used around the world for everything from product design and development to accessing markets. The high quality of these documents makes them the preferred choice of many industries across the globe. Who develops these standards? ASTM members–numbering 30,000 from 100 different nations. ASTM members are individuals and corporations who contribute their expertise to influence the standards being set for their industries. The work of ASTM International members makes products and services safer, better and more cost-effective. In short, ASTM International standards contribute toward product quality, enhancing communication, and overall customer satisfaction.

Resilient Floor Covering InstituteThe Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) is an industry trade association of North America manufacturers who produce resilient flooring products. Associate members of RFCI supply raw materials to the resilient flooring industry and manufacture installation and maintenance products.

Carpet Cushion CouncilFounded in 1976, the Carpet Cushion Council provides carpet cushion manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and installers with information that helps them understand, sell and install separate carpet cushion. Council members include U.S. and Canadian manufacturers of prime polyurethane foam, bonded polyurethane, sponge rubber, natural fiber and synthetic fiber cushion. Cushion industry suppliers such as chemical producers and equipment suppliers also are members of the Council.

Tile Council of North AmericaThe Tile Council is recognized for its leadership role in promoting the use of ceramic tile and in developing North American and international industry standards. Additionally, toward the goal of expanding the ceramic tile market in North America, TCNA regularly conducts independent research and product testing, works with regulatory and trade agencies, offers professional training, and publishes installation guidelines, tile standards, economic reports, and promotional literature.

Through science-based research, customer advocacy, environmental stewardship and consensus building, we serve our members and their customers. Our initiatives help protect carpet’s life and beauty and demonstrate its air quality benefit.

North American Laminate Flooring AssociationNALFA‘s primary purpose is to create voluntary product performance standards for laminate flooring in North America. NALFA employs no paid staff, but relies on the enthusiasm and dedication of its membership to ensure that this happens. NALFA has begun the process to set these voluntary standards. We at NALFA believe that a consumer should be able to make a purchasing decision without confusing jargon. Towards this end, NALFA has published its Terminology of Terms, a glossary helpful to both the trade and consumer.

The Floor Pro CommunityThe Floor Pro Community is a Resource and Information website for the Floor Covering Industry with emphasis on Professionals, Do-It-Yourselfers and Consumers. Its primary focus is on the Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales, Installation, Maintenance, Cleaning and Inspection of all types of Floor Covering. It is managed by Floor Covering Professionals with expertise in all segments of the industry and offers discussion forums and articles about all aspects of flooring.
