Bylaws & Code of Ethics for FITS Certified Members

  • FITS Certified inspectors must stay current with their continuing education units, be in good standing with manufacturers, maintain their technical skills and exhibit good people skills.
  • Certified inspector may have no more than two unresolved complaints in one year. All major complaints will be reviewed and could result in sanctions or loss of certification.
  • Evidence of working as a “hired gun” will be submitted for review and could result in sanctions or loss of certification.
  • FITS Certification applies to individuals qualifying and passing FITS criteria. No inspector can or will be allowed to inspect/work under another certificate.
  • FITS Certified inspectors must abide by the Bylaws & Code of Ethics with pride, professionalism and integrity. They must be devoted to the science, continuing education and special skills necessary to be recognized as a FITS Certified Flooring Inspector.
  • Non-compliance with the Bylaws & Code of Ethics and non-compliance with FITS and commissioners requests for business engagements will result in review and could result in sanctions or loss of certification.
